Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
**4.6/5 (4.7) 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ Ria Pizzeria Huntington Beach: Detroit-Style Done Right by the Beach** Tucked in the Bella Terra shopping center in Huntington Beach, **Ria Pizzeria** is the fast-casual spot that’s quietly become my go-to when that thick, cheesy Detroit-style craving hits 🍕🧀. The **convenient location** is a win—tons of free parking, right off the 405, and close enough to the beach for a post-surf slice. The interior is bright and modern with an open kitchen where you can watch the pans slide into the deck oven. **Service was friendly**—the staff behind the counter greet you with genuine smiles, explain the menu if you’re new to Detroit-style, and your pizza comes out hot in about 15 minutes even during the dinner rush. Order at the register, grab a seat inside or on the small patio—easy and relaxed. Got their signature **Detroit-style** (pepperoni, of course), and it’s seriously solid: thick, rectangular crust with that perfect crispy-cheesy frico edge all around, fluffy focaccia-like interior, and sauce striped on top the traditional way. The pepperoni cups curl and char just right, adding smoky crunch. Only minor deductions keep it from perfection based on my preferences. I’d love **a bit more sauce** (it’s light and lets the cheese shine, but I’m a sauce guy), bolder **seasoning** (a touch more oregano or garlic in the dough would pop), and a heavier hand with the **cheese** blend for even more gooey pull. Still, Ria nails the Detroit-style format better than most in SoCal—crispy edges, balanced toppings, and consistent execution. At this quality and convenience, it’s an easy 4.6. I’ll be back next time I’m in HB—probably for the veggie version to mix it up. Worth the stop if you’re anywhere near Bella Terra. I would bump it to 4.7 for a reheatable pizza!!
The pizzeria was very clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The garlic knots were absolutely delicious, soft, warm, and full of flavor. However, the pizza itself was a bit too greasy for my taste, and the sausage had an unpleasant smell that made it hard to enjoy. Overall, great service and starters, but the pizza quality could be improved.
This spot was perfect for a quick pizza. Traditional DETROIT style, deep dish, sauce on top. One word: DELICIOUS. Easy passing right in front. Quick and friendly service. Great menu combinations. A lil spot to dine in if you choose to, we took ours to go and got it fast 15 minutes! I love how clean the place was too. Definitely will come back!
Pizza was great! Was down for the weekend from Vegas… Got a personal cheese pizza for our son and the “meat lover’s” style for us… Super bomb! Also shoutout to them for delivering to our hotel room! My bf caught some travel bug and was sick in bed so we couldn’t dine out last night… Highly recommend! Also, first time ever having “Detroit Style” and it didn’t disappoint!
