Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
This review is dated for 2-14-26. The course was in beautiful condition, greens were very well maintained, not super fast but definitely tough. Some holes have plenty of room off the tee box and others are tight fairways. The back 9 has some holes with blind shots and make the course fairly difficult if you don't know where to hit it. I would definitely play again but the rate is very expensive.
Been a while since last time I played in a decent US course, Talega Golf Club certainly did me a great favor by showing me what's so called "course designs". Hole 6, a Par 5, not just the landscape is so amazing, but the design itself is an classic one, 2 hazards, 1 in the middle of fairway, another one in front of the green. Followed by Hole 7&8, 2 Par 3 holes in row, both also are equipped with very beautiful scenes and designs, very enjoyable to play in. Hole 11 is another beauty, dogleg left, but a big downhill, plus the hazards right on the curve of the fairway, challengingly fun to play. Hole 15 worth mentioning, golf cart would show the alarm 🚨 to remind you "Blind Tee Shot" as soon as you approaching the tee box, you don't get to see the fairway, and there's only a red flag for you to aim, very fun to play.
Been 10+ years since last playing Talega, partly as I no longer live in SoCal and the last few years AND because of bad word of mouth from area golfers. Course used to be viewed as one of the best in the Orange County area back around 2010. A few years back, I spoke with local golfers who all said, "The owners have let the course go and the conditions aren't good, I wouldn't play there." After some decent reviews, I decided to give it a go with huge reservations. With that being said, I was pleasantly surprised, greens were great, tee boxes were fine, bunkers fine, some fairways and areas around the greens still need work but seems like an effort might be being made as there are many areas you can see new sod has been laid. Layout, green complexes, and the bones of the course are awesome. Ownership group, you have a gem here, just keep reinvesting in course maintenance! Talega is back on my radar for client outings. I'd love to give you 5 stars based on layout alone but still room for improvement. I'll be back hope to see continued course improvements.
While not inexpensive, feels like a much more expensive course. Paid $120 for a round on a Friday afternoon. Not crowded and well maintained. Back 9 has some of the more interesting holes with 18 being the signature in my opinion.
Talega Golf Club was beyond what my husband and I could've ever imagined for our wedding last October! The venue is gorgeous, the food was amazing, and we have nothing but incredible things to say about Michael, the event coordinator. He was also our day-of coordinator, and he, alongside his incredible assistant Myra, truly made the day unforgettable. Michael and Myra's attention to detail and dedication to us on and before our big day was outstanding - we felt so well-taken care of, and we knew the day would go off without a hitch because of them. Our appreciation for Michael and Myra are endless! Their wedding package inclusions made our planning process so seamlessly easy! The choices for linens, tables, chairs, etc are all gorgeous and just what we wanted for our big day. The courtyard where we had the ceremony was clean and well-kept, and had the perfect backdrop for our altar. The cocktail area was gorgeous and had plenty of options for seating or standing without feeling cramped. The reception area was perfect for dinner and dancing - there was plenty of room for all of our tables, dance floor, bar, and DJ booth! Dinner selections were inclusive to all diets and we still get complements on how incredible the food was - we totally agree (best food we've ever had at a wedding, and that's not even us being bias lol). All of the waiters/bartenders were so sweet and made sure our guests were well-taken care of all evening. My husband and I will always have nothing but amazing things to say about Talega, Michael, and all of the wonderful staff. Thank you for making our special day even more amazing!
