Our dream began in late 2014, long before we became the “Best Mexican Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano”. It began inside a 17- foot food truck with the burning desire to change the way guests perceived food truck cuisine to be we have always believed that mexican food should be MORE! More complex, modern, enjoyable and healthier for our bodies.
We are delighted to introduce our new partners Maiz Cocina Group, who like us started as a food truck and share our vision and dreams. We are excited for our future and can’t wait to see what GOD has in store for us

I recently had a delightful lunch at Sol Agave, a spot I discovered thanks to a great recommendation. The restaurant's interior was a welcome escape from the midday heat, with fans and AC creating a comfortable atmosphere. The decor was a cool blend of modern and Western Mexican styles, and the ambient lighting and minimal noise made for a very pleasant dining experience. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad, which I requested blackened. The dish was a real treat—a generous portion of fresh greens and sweet berries, complemented by the perfectly cooked salmon. The entire salad was delicious and didn't disappoint. I enjoyed a Corona NA with my meal, a complimentary bowl of chips & some unique fig based salsa & red salsa was included, and the service throughout was attentive and friendly. As a bonus, Sol Agave is conveniently located with free parking, making it a perfect stop if you're ever in the area doing some shopping. I highly recommend it!
5-star service and operations -- with a great attention to customer satisfaction -- for example, without us asking, they put a small rack at the side of our table so that my wife could hang her bag (instead of sitting on the floor). Thank you Enrique! Highlights of our meal were the chips & salsa, theTacos del Mar, and the spongy delicious Tres Leches cake.
Wow what a great place! Let’s get into it. I came here with a group of car friends. We didn’t call ahead. And they had no idea we were coming either a very large party and lots of cars. But guess what? If all worked out amazing! Let’s move on. From the moment we parked. To the moment we were seated. They were all steely accommodating. They quickly put a large area of tables together for us. Quickly took our orders and food came out in a VERY timely manner. Entire place was clean. Well taken care of. Staff as I said again was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and professional. Let’s get into the food. I kept it really simple. Chicken quesadilla. Very tender, juicy seasoned to perfection chicken. I will 100% without a doubt get this again. A lot of places somehow seem to mess up the simplest things. However this place didn’t. Drink flight. Mostly all to sweet for me. I’m not a big sugar person. But if that’s what you’re into you’ll love it! Would I recommend this place? Most definitely. Will I return? Yes. See you soon Sol Agave!
Sol Agave is one of our favorite places to enjoy authentic Mexican food as a family! The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, making it perfect for gathering together. Every dish is full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with quality ingredients—you can taste the passion in every bite. The margaritas and cocktails are a must-try, and the staff always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Whether it’s a family night out or a special occasion, Sol Agave never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great food, great service, and a true Mexican dining experience!
Very good Mexican restaurant that is super popular. It's a huge restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, with an old school vibe. You definitely need a reservation for dinner. I really enjoyed the food and the margaritas were good as well.
