Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Ordered a deck to my hotel while staying in the US. Mike from SoCal replied directly to me to reassure me the shipping wasn’t going to be a problem. Received the deck well packaged and with the grip tape applied, with the nice bonus of a little “SoCal” cutout, which looks great. Overall very happy and would shop here again and visit the store when in the area.
EDIT: I originally gave this place a one star review… I had my kids with me and Apple Maps took us to the wrong plaza. The address isn’t necessarily intuitive as the number address covers two different parking areas. If you don’t find it at first, it’s in the other plaza. It was a great experience, the guy behind the counter was really patient with me and my kids. Glad we finally found it. Excited for the new deck! Gift for my wife.
I'm a 33 year old man who's wanted to skate for years without and previous experience. I decided to get a deck online and brought it in to the shop to build it. I went in being really self conscious and I'll-informed. I didn't get the sales guys name but he was awesome. He gave me a bunch of choices for everything, trucks, wheels, bearings, hardware, grip tape and didn't push anything on me. Taught me how to put it all together and answered all my questions. By the time I left, I felt ready to ride and work on my board as needed. Support your local skate shop if you want them to stick around. SoCal skate shop was the best and I'm definitely going back anytime I need help. Or if I just want to look around for that matter.
I've been in that place many times with my grandson he's gotten lots of equipment and boards from there and it's local good people they know what they're talking about manufacturing my grandson was showing me pictures of the guy at El Toro High School did the 20 step jump all the way down I believe he's the first one that's done that I don't know for sure but he was sure excited and my grandson was excited he even went over there to see the place where it happened everyone seemed to be really excited
Really awesome place and the guy running it was super cool. Great deck selection but the only reason im giving 4 stars was because i was trying to get clear grip tape but the guy accidentally gave me white grip tape. Overall awesome place!
