Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Never mind the page on the menu with the Mexican selections. Looking at the wall decorations, it is evident that Señor Big Ed is a Puerto Rican restaurant at its core. I was born in Puerto Rico, and this restaurant visit was a special treat. I ordered the mofongo with the pork pernil, the arroz con gandules, and a mix of tostones and amarillos. They perfectly cooked everything. The mofongo was especially good, with some juices from the pernil added over the top for extra flavor. I would make a detour in the future just for the mofongo. The food was too salty for my taste. But I won't ding Señor Big Ed too much for that because 1) that is probably how they make it back in the island, and 2) I dislike salt more than most. The service was very attentive and friendly. Everything, including the bathrooms, was impeccably clean. Located about a half-hour east of the Los Angeles airport, the restaurant is an excellent choice for a delicious ethnic meal to combine with your travel plans.
I really enjoy the food and atmosphere of this restaurant. I like that they have a broad range of Puerto Rican & Mexican dishes. Perfect place to meet up with family to grab lunch or dinner.
Was waiting for a long time to find good Puerto Rican food and this place did not disappoint. A shot out to my waitress Veronica who was absolutely phenomenal. Very nice and welcoming. If you love Puerto Rican food, get this on your rotation. I had the pernil and pork chop and I am still buzzing about the meal a week later
Growing up in a Puerto Rican household, I’ve always been on the lookout for a restaurant that can deliver the authentic flavors of my family’s cooking. I’m thrilled to say that I’ve found it! This restaurant is a true gem, offering dishes that are as rich in flavor and freshness as the meals I enjoyed at home. The consistency in taste is remarkable, and it’s clear that they use quality ingredients in every dish. Not only is the food top-notch, but the prices are also quite reasonable, which is always a plus. The staff here deserve a special mention as well; they are incredibly friendly and helpful, making each visit a pleasure. If you’re looking for an authentic Puerto Rican dining experience, this place is definitely the closest you’ll get to a home-cooked meal. Highly recommended!
Tastes like my aunt is cooking in the kitchen. I drive all the way from LA for this food once a week. Fantastic Arroz Grandules. I'm never making pasteles myself ever again. Pollo guisado is on point. My best friend even found me the cutest sticker there this week. So happy this place exists.
