Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Bit of a wine snob and I ventured in waiting for a smog check and was blown away with the quality of their portfolio. Sta. Rita Hills Pinot is my favorite wine and they make a true expression that stands up to the best I’ve had from the region. The rose to go in a growler was also a huge hit among our friends; went very well with oysters and the blood orange forward Grenache rose is a must re-visit. Seal beach has it all, ask for Greg!
The person serving us was a bit on the rude side. Not sure why,..but we did the tasting and left. The Merlot was my favorite. I know I read something about cheese plates you could get there. And some other folks there had one. Yet when we asked for something she just said no and walked away. Other than the Merlot didn't care for rest. Really pricey and might have purchased if I could have sipped a glass instead of a few swallows but needed a little something to eat...so just paid and left. Maybe your server should be a little nicer to all paying customers. I am a firm believer in the fact that servers are so important to the face of the establishment. Response to establishments reply: we did only one tasting because all wines offered were in the tasting. Normally we do two with each of us having a different selection. Then we share our opinions on each wine. We have a glass of what we like. The intent is to purchase a some bottles in the end. The customer with cheese and nuts were asking the server questions about the nuts on her plate...so the assumption was that you had some sort of nibbles. As for your website, I read you had cheese plates on it some where. Was in the car and got to your place after driving for two hours. Didn't see anything about you NOT having any snacks. So my apologies for thinking you might have some. I should have called before we got ther. Thank you for responding.
Great winery! Everything I had I enjoyed from whites to reds. Greg was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, making for a fun experience. Approachable welcoming style to round out the wonderful wines. Looking forward to my next visit!
A decent little winery utilizing local vineyards with a good selection of both red and white wines. The only wine that I particularly disliked was the Merlot which had bafflingly strong green pepper flavor throughout. I recommend giving their tastings a try, particularly if there's a good Groupon deal. We had $42 for a tasting for two, which was 6 tastings each and a $30 credit towards full glasses or bottles.
Absolutely fantastic experience! Groupon is a great deal as well. Seriously enjoyed it all, and took home two bottles. Covid didn’t allow them to serve food, but we brought our own mean, cheese, crackers, and almonds which their website said was okay right now. Worked perfect! The cab and Chardonnay were our favorites at the time.
