Great post-beach vibes, amazing service, and delicious tropical eats!
After a long day at the beach with the family, we were starving. While walking back to our car, we stumbled upon Royal Hawaiian and spontaneously decided to stop in for a bite.
Right from the start, the host and hostess were incredibly friendly and got us seated immediately. That warm hospitality continued throughout the entire meal—every single employee who serviced our table was remarkably attentive and welcoming.
We ordered a massive spread of drinks and dishes, and for the most part, the food was completely on point:
The Drinks: We tried the Triple Happiness (which brought plenty of happiness indeed!), the POG, the Lapu Layover, and the
Piña No-Lada. They were refreshing, fun, and the perfect way to cool down after being out in the sun.
Shrimp Garlic Noodles: This was a major highlight of the night. The garlic shrimp was absolutely great—savory, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor.
Broke da Mouth Onion & ROHO Fries: Both of these sides were delicious. The onion was perfectly crispy with a great dipping sauce, and the fries were excellent.
Musubi & Fried Katsu Chicken Sandwich: Really solid, comforting flavors that everyone enjoyed.
Loco Moco: This was the only dish that fell a bit flat for us. I’ve had my fair share of loco mocos over the years, and this one was just a bit too much on the bland side and lacked that deep, savory punch you look for in the gravy.
Even with the one minor miss on the loco moco, the overall experience, excellent flavors on the rest of the menu, and top-tier staff made this a fantastic meal. We would absolutely come back!

Parking can be a challenge, do note that the small lot next door can be validated for up to 2 hours by restaurant staff. Food is a little pricey, but it's to be expected in Laguna Beach. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was od decent quality and we found the taste agreeable. We tried the Mac salad, french fries, white rice, and the teriyaki steak, the steak especially was tasty. A good dining destination overall, they also have a full bar and counter seats as well as some outside seating.

Such a fun and yummy night! Saw this place on oc_foodie’s instagram so we wanted to give it a try. We loved the pupu platter, which was the sampler of several of the delicious appetizers. So worth it! This alone with some drinks at the bar would make an amazing happy hour.
We were here for dinner so we got the ahi with Mac salad and veggies, and the shrimp skewers with rice and fries. Both of the dishes were fresh and delicious. I would definitely add the gravy to the fries next time. The shrimp skewers were so garlicky which we loved. We ended the meal with the lava cake, which had yummy macadamia nuts. Live music on weekends is such a nice touch and service was attentive and prompt. Can’t wait to come back and try them for happy hour too!

We were on Orange County for a month or so and were told the Royal Hawaiian was the best tiki bar in OC. We made a reservation and met some family members there. The build out was top-notch! I know it took them a while to finally open but you can see where the additional time went. I had the Three Dots and a Dash and it was one of the best ones I've had. We had the Coconut Shrimp and the Fried Rice, both were amazing. Parking was super easy to valet a few doors down. We liked it so much that we came back a few more times during the month! We'd go back for sure the next time we're in town.

Went two nights ago for happy hour before watching the sunset at Heisler Park, 2 minutes away.
I got the Happy Hour Mai Tai $10 and vegetable spring rolls $10. Both were delicious!
Very friendly staff and bartenders make great cocktails. Decor is fun, restaurant is clean and love the vibe. It's a staple in Laguna, definitely recommend it!
The only somewhat complaint...put music on that visitors guests want to hear at a tiki bar ie Polynesian, Surfer, 1960s etc NOT Led Zeppelin (which happens to be one of my favorite bands). Think lots of times staff puts on their picks vs what guests want.
