Pinafini was such a pleasant surprise in Laguna Beach. From the outside, I did not fully expect the patio to open up into such a beautiful, modern space with an ocean view, but it really does. It has that polished Mediterranean meets South Beach energy, bright, relaxed, stylish, and still very family friendly.
What I love about the menu is that it gives you a little bit of everything without feeling random. You can come here with a large group and everyone will find something, from salmon, chicken, shrimp, beef, kebabs, pastas, pizzas, salads, brunch dishes, and even a Nutella French toast for the kids. It is especially great for families or groups with different dietary needs because the menu has so much range.
We ordered the Caesar salad with the panko on the side and added chicken breast, the hummus with warm pita and cut vegetables, and the Lebanese breakfast, Ful Mudammas. The hummus is absolutely worth ordering. It was fresh, smooth, sesame-forward, and packed with that authentic Lebanese flavor. The olive oil on top was also noticeably good, rich, flavorful, and not just there for decoration. With the warm pita, it was simple but really satisfying.
The standout for me was the Ful Mudammas. It is a warm, fava bean-based dish with cumin, tomato, herbs, and this beautiful citrus-forward broth that makes it feel bright and comforting at the same time. It came with eggs, cucumber, olives, lebni yogurt, and zaatar bread, and the whole plate felt generous and full of flavor. The olives could use a little loving
A special shoutout to Edwin, who was warm, attentive, and answered all of our questions with so much patience. Pinafini feels like one of the easier Laguna Beach spots to recommend because it works for brunch, lunch, dinner, cocktails, families, groups, and anyone who wants Mediterranean food with a modern coastal setting.

Loved my dinner at pinafini. We were seated right next to the window with a view of the ocean and the lighting was so pretty. Our server was very attentive and kind.
I had a pizza with fig and arugula. Which I really enjoyed as well as the lobster ravioli. The ashta cake which was really yummy (although if you're not a fan of floral flavors it's might taste somewhat soapy)
Wish I could have tried more dishes!
Parking is free after 7 pm in Lot 6 behind the restaurant!

I would go back just for the wonderful & delicious puffy pita bread alone. Great lively atmosphere. Delicious mezza plate appetizers. Amazing Greek salad with large squares of tasty Feta cheese. The Kebob plates are better than anywhere else I've been to & the French fries were yummy yummy! A great & enjoyable ding experience for sure!

Delectable! Daniel took wonderful care of us. His suggestion of the risotto was exemplary :) We had calamari for an appetizer and my husband had the delicious Octopus sald. For dessert the sorbet 🍨 was refreshing and delicious and the baklava was incredible! Seriously, the BEST I have ever had!!

I have dietary intolerances to gluten and corn. Gluten free items are clearly marked on the menu with one mistake: the lamb is marked gluten free but comes on a bed of bulgar wheat. Our waiter called out this discrepancy when my husband ordered it, and overall he was very knowledgeable about the ingredients the dishes contained. Pinafini does use cornstarch, so corn-avoiders like myself should check for safety of the dishes they are interested in.
My husband and I shared the Mediterranean octopus and seared Haloumi cheese as starters, and I got the butternut squash as my main. Everything was delicious! I was happy with both the service and food we received at Pinafini!
