Terrible experience at this elitist and exclusive “public” course. I was warming up for a few minutes at the chipping area before I was going to hit the range. I never hit the range because of the staff that works at this elitist course. I was told I needed to “rent a tube” in order to chip balls at the chipping area…. Like I knew what that meant. I said “no I’m ok I don’t need a tube to pick up balls…” I was then told I needed to rent a tube in order to hit balls at the chipping area, my own balls by the way. I’ve never even heard of something like this but this course is clearly hurting for money if they are hassling people at the practice area for a few extra bucks… bad form all around. Don’t even get me started on $160 greens fees… Arrowood for less is all I’m saying. The staff there is actually happy to see you

Beautiful golf course. Fairways and greens in great shape. Golf carts are equipped with top of the line GPS and a ball washer. How cool is that? They give you two bottles of water with ice. Cart girl came around twice. Course is challenging but definitely playable. With a bit of luck, you will lose no balls. Will definitely come back on my next visit to Irvine.

I haven’t played the course yet, but the practice facilities are very well maintained. Pristine course-like upkeep. The grounds crew do a great job. The range has a lot of spaces, you’re hitting off of grass. It’s also a popular place so try to get there at a good time so you can find a spot on the range. Even if you don’t find a spot on the range, they’re putting green on the right side is very well manicured. As well as the chipping area. It’s a nice challenging design. With lots different, slope angles and breaks. There’s even a bunker in the middle of the green you can hit out of. You can pay for the ball retriever at the little window or you can bring your own balls and practice. One of the best places to spend time practicing at.

There's really not much to fault about this course except the price and how there is no food service except for the cart at the 8th green. I dunno, did they lose their liquor license or something? But the greens are tough but well managed. The fairways are equally nice Bermuda without a single blade of St Augustine anywhere to be found. The holes are generally challenging with multiple dog legs and rolling fairways.

Brought several high-net-worth clients here while they were evaluating properties in Irvine and the Shady Canyon area. Oak Creek is a well-maintained course that appeals to the golf-focused buyer demographic I often work with. The driving range is excellent for warming up before a round, and the overall facility feels polished without being pretentious. Clients from out of state are always impressed by the year-round playability that Orange County offers, and courses like this help seal the deal on relocations.
