This is not an easy review to write because I feel for the owners and don’t want to ruin things for them. But, I was ill after having lunch there today. Not sure if it was bad food or bad understanding on what GF means. Anyway, the food wasn’t tasty at all. It was quite disappointing. The service was very good, and our waiter was so nice. Sorry but our experience was not a good one.
It has been a while since we were in, but the beautiful people that own and operate this fantastic restaurant are part of the heart and soul of San Clemente. From the moment you step through the door and greeted you feel at home. They create the most delectable appetizers, our favorite are the crispiest most delightful spring rolls to get you started. They cut them in sections so it’s an easy first date choice or like me lots of sharing with my hubby and friends, don’t miss the large coconut tomyomga soup. It comes to the table in a sizzling towering centerpiece. Enough to share. The drunken noodles were always on our table. We live far away now, but I dream of walking in and the aromas from the old recipes wafting from the kitchen, the fantastic silk shirt collection the host wears when he sweeps you to your table. Their radiant daughter taking your order and garbed in layers of colorful embroidered Thai gowns. Just a ten out of ten date night, family night, authentic to the core spot that makes you feel like you are part of the family. You are a gift Munghut Thai! Truly! Thank you for years of connection and bringing so much heritage culture and grace to the community. No one compares.
We ordered uber eats from this location. An item was forgotten but that’s fine, it happens on occasion and I won’t fault the restaurant for it. The one star is mainly because of a large piece of plastic in our coconut soup (pictured) 😔 The chicken pad Thai was just ok, it was dry which was unfortunate. The red curry and rice was delicious but not good enough to salvage the piece of plastic in our food which we didn’t get to until we were more than half way done with it
My wife wanted Thai food, I really didn't know what to order, so I asked our server what was the best selling pork dish. I forgot what the dish was, but it was AMAZING. I will definitely go here again and try something knew. Did I mention it was amazing! Yes it's that good.
Padang curry without any!! vegetable just sauce and tough chicken and no nuts, but mentioned on the menue. When I critized it , very friendly and objective, the owner dissapered without any response, the service askesed me how it was? I critized, 2 min. later the same service with the same question. Unable to deal with criticismen and no sorry or explanation. Bad food, bad service. Go somewhere else.
