Our experience at Maggiano’s Little Italy in South Coast Plaza was outstanding from beginning to end. The restaurant offers a warm, classic Italian ambiance that feels both welcoming and perfect for a relaxed yet elevated dining experience. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, with generous portions and rich, comforting flavors that truly reflect classic Italian-American cuisine done right. Each dish was clearly prepared with care and attention to detail, and nothing felt rushed or overlooked. The food was flavorful, well-balanced, and incredibly satisfying—comforting without being heavy. Every bite felt indulgent in the best way, and it’s the kind of meal that leaves you genuinely happy and already planning your next visit. What really stood out was the consistency and quality across the entire meal. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations, making the experience feel special and memorable. We stopped by for a late lunch. We ordered the tradtional italian food. I had the rigatoni with vodka sauce and sausage. The flavor was hearty and delicious. The portion size was large, I have to take a pirtion to go. I did order extra sauce and mozzarella cheese on the side. Food service was fast and the professional. If your looking for a traditional italian meal, with great flavors and great service then this is a must try.
I just dined at this Maggiano’s and tried the Four Cheese Ravioli which was very good, with the sauce flavorful without being too heavy. The portions are normally generous and satisfying. The staff is usually friendly but the service waver a little when they get very busy, also the wait is too long if you dont have a reservation on a weekend. The atmosphere, the setting with the red blankey tables does give that authentic Italian feel to the dining areas, feels comfortable and welcoming, best for a family dinner, though it’s a bit lively if you’re hoping for something quieter.
We had a lovely evening! My chicken piccata was absolutely delicious, and my daughter really enjoyed her salad. While her boyfriend found the fettuccine a little dry and my husband was hoping for a more traditional eggplant Parmesan, we all agreed the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Overall, a great experience
