I come here often with my son and usually have a great experience. This time I stopped in solo, sat at the bar, had a beer, and watched the games. The location is super convenient (walking distance) and the food is consistently good. Unfortunately, the experience at the bar was less enjoyable due to a few old drunks regulars who were loudly sharing political opinions. It made the atmosphere uncomfortable and took away from what is otherwise a great neighborhood spot.
When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly empty, but Back Street Brewery had a few patrons enjoying drinks at the bar. We were able to order beer right away, and the server was kind enough to offer me a taste before I committed! One thing I wish was clearer: the menu didn’t list prices for the beers, so I had no idea how much each one cost until I saw the total bill. It would be great to have that transparency upfront. That said, I appreciated the selection—they had a mix of BSB’s own brews along with offerings from other breweries, which made for a well-rounded variety. The dog-friendly patio is great, especially for enjoying that beautiful OC weather. As for food, we decided to try the Pesto Supreme pizza, and it did not disappoint! The crust was perfectly crispy, and the cheese pulls were seriously impressive. Overall, I’m happy to have another solid brewery option in Irvine and look forward to coming back!
Nice atmosphere. Ladies at front desk ignored me but a young man in the kitchen noticed me, greeted me and helped me get my to go order. Than I was questioned by a young lady if I had paid for it… I bought artichoke spinach dip for $17. Portion was small but was given a lot of garlic bread. Dip was cold and did not taste right. Actually had kind of a fishy taste, gross. Could not eat it and will not go back. Definitely disappointed. I love artichoke spinach dip and never knew it could taste so bad.
I usually like to get a drink from this place while doing online work because the wifi is stable and they have a corner I can stay away from the crowds. They have good selection of beers and my favorite is Hazy-Ex and Animator. Their pizza is good and generous on the meats but that's why they are not cheap either. Just be prepare to pay like a restaurant price because their beers are on the pricier side. Maybe go during the happy hour is the only way to afford the inflations now 🤷♀️
I love Lampost!! Which made it the disappointment even bigger when I recently visited this local location. The guy ringing me up was good, but the pizza was ok at best, and the appetizer platter was horrible. It looked and tasted like frozen food out of a microwave. We had a Mexican Lager from the bar and that was very good. Don’t think I’ll be coming back to this location.
