Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
We decided to try Lagos after a social media post popped up on Facebook. We went right when it opened so there was no one there on a Friday night yet ;).The inside is really fun. Our server was great and overall it was a wonderful place to try for our 38th anniversary. All of our food choices were very good. The sampler margaritas were delicious and perfect if you want to find a new favorite. They look huge but the 4 equal a small drink. The chips were fresh and salsa great. I had dessert first! They have a dedicated dessert chef and the special was an apple crumble. It was very good. We had the rib eye, sea bass, lobster Mac, mushrooms, and zucchini. All was great. We brought home the chocolate cake and it was to die for (sorry no pic)!!
I went to dinner with some friends in Fullerton yesterday, and we chose Lagos Mexican Restaurant—what an incredible choice! The ambiance is stunning, with beautiful decorations that set the perfect mood for any occasion. The appetizers were out of this world. We tried the calamari and the flautas, and they were seriously some of the best we've ever had—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and full of texture. For dinner, we all shared the tomahawk steak, which was cooked to absolute perfection. We also tried the enchiladas with filet mignon, and they were phenomenal! This place is perfect for a date night or an anniversary celebration. From the food to the atmosphere, everything was top-notch. If you're in Fullerton, you have to check it out—you won’t be disappointed!
Stopped by for brunch on Sunday and really liked the atmosphere of Lagos. And the bathrooms were lovely! Unfortunately, when you come for brunch, their menu is very, very limited. In fact when we came in at noon on a Sunday, they even ran out of three of the dishes that were on the already limited list. There are no small plates to share which I think they could easily remedy by adding a few of their existing appetizers from their lunch/dinner menu that would require little prep. My sister and I ended up splitting the chilaquiles which were ok. Fried eggs were undercooked but the steak was well prepared. Their salsas were delicious. Our server was attentive and cocktails were nice. Due to limited menu and price for what you get, I would not come back for brunch.
We decided to try this place after reading all the glowing reviews. Let me start by saying...this place is stunning inside! The restrooms even have beautiful paintings and were impeccably clean. The wait staff were friendly and efficient, and the drinks were delicious! For dinner, I had the Camarones a la Diabla (jumbo shrimp, cilantro rice, diablo sauce, and avocado). The sauce was incredible, and I could honestly eat that rice every day. My sisters each ordered La Tablita (steak, Jidori chicken, jumbo shrimp, scallops, and rice with beans). The presentation was a show-stopper—the waiter even lit the plate on fire, which was absolutely stunning. While everything looked amazing, we felt the flavors could have been bolder. The dishes were visually impressive, but we expected a bit more in terms of taste. Definitely, a place to go if you have a special occasion. The vibe is amazing and the food presentation is next level.
This is one of the best Mexican restaurants that I have ever been to. It is absolutely beautiful! From the decor, to the lights, to the music, to the seating, to the restroom, to the kitchen, to the patio! This place goes above and beyond. Their drinks are strong, the service is outstanding and their food is flavorful , fresh, served hot and fast. We cannot wait to be back!
