Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
If seated in the patio area, customers tend to be forgotten. Need to go over to the main restaurant to grab someone to take our orders. Other than that, food was good. Price is medium to high due to cuisine.
Delicious sushi with an extensive menu in the heart of Downtown Fullerton! The ambience was creative and casual. Right in the middle of all the shops and bars. The food was flavorful and the prices were fair, they had some good deals like buy a roll get one half off, buy one hot sake and get a second for .99cents. Its a lowkey local spot but feels like you’re somewhere in Japan. So much to choose from menu wise, cold food, hot food…Yumminess for days!
This spot in Fullerton is super close to CSUF, and honestly feels like a second cafeteria for students. The prices are super budget-friendly, the menu has a ton of options, and the flavor is consistently good. The vibe is very much like a retro-style Japanese izakaya. Came here with some friends and ordered a table full of shareable dishes—everything was solid: Bento Box You can choose two or three mains—I got takoyaki, Korean beef, and teriyaki chicken. It comes with rice, miso soup, and salad. Generous portions! The chicken was tender and flavorful, beef on the sweeter side but not too much, and the takoyaki had bonito flakes which added a great touch. Negitoro Rice Bowl + Uni This was super Japanese in style. The toro was finely chopped and creamy, mixed with green onions and uni. Best eaten wrapped in nori—rich, fresh, and melt-in-your-mouth. Tokyo Roll Spicy tuna and cucumber inside, topped with spicy albacore, avocado, and crispy onions. The sauce is a mix of spicy yuzu ponzu, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. Flavor-packed but well-balanced. Baked Scallop California Roll A classic California roll base topped with baked scallops, slightly charred, with mentaiko sauce and eel sauce. Hot, savory, and comforting. Grilled King Crab Bites Crunchy base with a heap of crab meat on top—clean flavor and great for sharing. Salmon Tartare Finely chopped salmon mixed with sauce, served with crackers. Refreshing and a nice appetizer. Spicy Lemon Grilled Octopus Crispy skin, super tender octopus, and a tangy spicy sauce that really stands out.
Taste :4.5/5 Environment: 4.5/5 Service:4.5/5 Even though it’s called a ramen shop, Kopan Sushi & Ramen honestly feels more like a cozy Japanese izakaya that's been hiding in plain sight. The whole place has serious izakaya vibes — warm lighting, casual energy, and the kind of menu that makes you want to hang out all night. Bonus points: they even have a “buy a bottle, get one free” deal, which feels like a love letter to all the hardworking people who just need a drink (or two) after a long day. Some recommendations 💛Sesame Chicken – crispy, savory, and ridiculously addictive. 💛 King Crab Bites 💛 Chili Lime Tako – tender octopus with just the right kick. 💛 Yuzu Miso Black Snapper Crudo bright, refreshing, and full of flavor. 💛 toro Donburi fresh salmon over rice with a citrusy pop. 💛 Hotate Crudo – Scallop with Caviar– rich, delicate, and basically impossible to resist. 💛Ginza sushi platter is the showstopper here — colorful, eye-catching
Recently, I’ve been loving this hidden gem of a restaurant! I really enjoy the cozy Japanese ambiance—it’s very comfortable. The staff is incredibly friendly and gave us great recommendations that turned out to be delightful surprises. I especially love the tonkotsu ramen; the broth is rich and flavorful, and even the kids enjoyed it. We also ordered the Ginza sushi—the sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the presentation was beautifully done. This is definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to!
