This place is classy art deco Americana galore! Beautiful location, beautiful beach views even the drinks are beautiful. The bartender will whip up a mock tail for you on the fly as there are no mocktails on the menu. The hotel and restaurants staff are very attentive and friendly. I love the vibe here. We will definitely return. If you haven’t been definitely checking it out.
Beautiful hotel, or the restaurant. The hotel hasn’t been able to be open. Views are amazing of the beach and great people working there. Only issue is that their grilled fish tacos are not grilled. They are pan fried. They were crispy on the sides which is not grilled. They were fried but they were pan fried which two of us went home to upset stomachs later due to the heavy oil used to cook the fish. We ordered grilled and it wasn’t and waiter explained they cook it in a pan. Everything was great. Great chips and salsa.
My wife and I spent the morning hosting an open house in Laguna Beach and decided to treat ourselves to a spontaneous date day afterward. We walked into Hotel Laguna with no reservation and were seated within five minutes right on the balcony overlooking the ocean. It was the perfect spot to soak in the view on a beautiful day. Our server, Kaytlyn, was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and professional without hovering. She checked in at just the right moments, gave us space to relax, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was fantastic. We shared nachos, a Caesar salad, and oysters on the half shell, and every bite was delicious. Even the bread and butter stood out. They served two kinds of butter, both amazing, and we could not decide which one we liked more. The cocktails were equally great, and the overall vibe was laid back yet elevated. We never felt rushed, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was unbeatable. It was one of those rare, perfect afternoons filled with great food, great company, great service, and a view that reminds you why you love Southern California. We will definitely be back.
Horrible experience!! Not what one would expect from Hotel Laguna. This team specializes in NO & CAN’T..ugh!!!! Hotel Leaders need an independent evaluation of how hotel staff runs their biz for them. I brought a group there and was completely embarrassed. Comments from my guests were extremely disappointing. Team needs special training of how to genuinely and sincerely provide excellence in customer service. Especially for this caliber hotel and type of clientele in this area. Bottom line…show that you care and care that you do!!!!!
I’ve been a loyal customer of Hotel Laguna for years, regularly visiting and spending upwards of $1,000 per visit. This has always been one of my go-to spots — not just for the ambiance, but for the experience I’ve come to enjoy and expect. However, during my most recent visit, I had a very disappointing experience. Despite having a reservation for the couch area, we were denied seating because our full party hadn’t arrived yet. A few of my guests were running late, and one was unexpectedly unable to attend due to illness — understandable circumstances that I politely explained to the manager. Unfortunately, I was told there was nothing that could be done and that we could not be seated until everyone arrived. As a returning client who has supported this business over the years, I was hoping for a bit of understanding and flexibility — especially since I had a reservation and a consistent track record of patronage. I’ve let similar situations slide in the past, but this time it was clear that loyalty and customer value weren’t taken into consideration. I truly hope management reconsiders how they treat long-standing customers in the future. Great venues are built not just on aesthetics or rules, but on relationships and service
