This place has an impressive variety of meads that are great for first time mead drinkers and mead lovers alike. Huge shout-out to Eddie for all of his recommendations and explanations of the different flavor profiles.
Honey Pot Meadery is located in an industrial area off La Palma in Anaheim. I came here with a fairly large group. Casual ambiance with Home Alone playing in the background with a ton of activities - my kind of place! I’m not much of a drinker but I did get to taste a variety of meads from the items my sister picked out. Most of the items, I really enjoyed. Now that I’ve tried it for the first time, I prefer meads over my former favorite fruity beers (Mango Cart) or sour IPA (Modern Times). I think I like it because it’s got a smooth taste and most flavors I really enjoyed. It’s got that framboise taste that I like just a smoother mouthfeel. The service was awesome. I believe the lady who helped us was Jenny - sorry if I heard wrong. The vibe is a super chill atmosphere. We stayed a little over an hour and we had fun trying a variety of meads, playing games, and enjoying each other’s company. My brother-in-law bought a few bottles, which aren’t the cheapest but the quality is what you’re paying for - definitely worth it. By the way, I love the branding! Cute logo, name, and drawings of their drinks!!
Wonderful service, and an incredible selection of meads and ciders... if you're into that. If you're not, you will find a lot of what they offer to be a little sweet. There are plenty of less sweet/ more dry options, but it might take some digging into the catalog. And it's certainly worth the effort. But if all you care about is IPAs, this might not be your favorite spot.
Fabulous mead, fabulous service, fabulous atmosphere! Rachel suggested some great tasting meads! We loved it so much we bought some to bring home! I would recommend coming out for a date night or to hangout with friends! The retro games make the atmosphere chill and extra fun!
It is very hard to find delicious mead and the Honey Pot Meadery doesn't disappoint! They offer mead tasting flights and as this was our first time visiting, we sampled two. The one I absolutely LOVED was the "Straight Outta Rosemead". Such different, light, refreshing, and complex flavor that I had never experienced before. I had hoped they had a bottle I could purchase for home, but unfortunately it is not available in the bottle. Worlds Collide and Blue Pine (mead & cider) were also quite tasty. My partner loved the Waxwing, if you're looking for a super sweet, thick flavor. The service was very slow, but definitely worth the wait! Will definitely visit again. Also- there are retro video games to play if so inclined.
