Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
I went to High Horse Saloon with my mom and a friend, and we had a really nice evening. The place feels comfortable and friendly, a good spot to enjoy food and spend time together. Our server had such a kind and positive vibe, which made the experience even better. We ordered steak, onion rings, and some drinks. The steak was flavorful, the onion rings were crispy, and everything came out at a good pace. It felt like a genuine and enjoyable night, and I would gladly come back.
Parking is simple, either by street or public parking structure. Entrance is largely by rear of restaurant and is interconnected with Mickeys bar Theme is largely western, with a huge array of trinkets that decorate the location. Furnished in wood and subtle lighting, the music is low and tranquil, with easy country music 🎶. Patrons are friendly, mostly family oriented and the atmosphere was welcoming. For small gatherings to large, you'll have a good time. Food menu is varied with unique servings and large 32 of beers available. The only problem i would state, and which affected my score, would be the service. At the end of the night, I was heavily charged for drinks that I had not ordered. My bill was 250 plus . The result was being charged 8 32oz beers when I had only drank 1. I did invite a few beers and food items, of all which was a grand total of 140... but to be charged 11 drinks more? My issue is, the lady bartender wanted me to split and review the bill with my friends. And after a couple min, she realized that , yes, i had not ordered so much. While the bill was fixed to reflect actual charges, i felt a bit annoyed by how it was handled and why my card had so many charges, especially when I was at the bar 🍸 most of the time. So please people close out your tab every time you order, and always review your bill - always! So my final score is 2.90 - the great atmosphere really was great- it just the bad taste of getting a bill that was filled errors.
Good food at a good price. The ribeye is darn good and come with a good amount of sides. The Cajun burger is solid too good flavor. Local spot for sure.
My server Tu was fantastic and the food was excellent.and so was my skinny margarita. Came to see Jayden Secor play and they did not disappoint. Such a great band to enjoy while having dinner and a cocktail with my family.
Our bartender Cassy was spectacular and that’s the only reason this place is getting one star from me. Long story short YES my fiancé and I were drunk I mean come on it a bar on a Saturday at midnight? It was also our first time there so I thought I knew where the bathroom was because I had just went to the woman’s bathroom so when my fiancé said he needed to go I offered to go with and show him where it was. It was crowded and the men’s bathroom was in fact not right next to the woman’s like I assumed so we definitely did some back and forth and probably looked confused. My fiancé then tripped on my foot and kinda stumbled but caught himself before falling. Next thing I know he had his hands behind his back and the security was talking him away from the area quickly. Of course I follow and he gave him a nice push out the door. When I came out from behind the security I asked my fiancé what I missed/ what had happened? He said that the guy must have thought he was too drunk but didn’t even attempt to speak to him. He walked up behind him, put his hands behind his back, and said you gotta go. My fiancé wouldn’t hurt a fly and it was truly so disappointing for him to be treated so harshly. Not to mention, he still has bruises from how hard he was grabbed by security and this was over a week ago. Ask before touching people maybe? If we seemed drunk please tell us to go!! BUT hands behind the back, the shove out the door, and the assumptions without any verbal conversation is trash. Do better. We tipped well, were respectful, and we will sure as hell never be returning to this disgusting establishment.
