I went in because I heard about their Thursday special. Burger with bacon and fries for $7.50. It really is a deal that is too good to pass up. The food was good. The service was OK, but then again I came right about when they opened. It's a nice cozy spot that I would recommend to anyone that wants a good burger. I'd go back for sure.

Hennessey's has always been one of our favorite spots in Laguna Beach from when we used to live there. Now that we're in Vegas, we only get to visit once a year during spring break, but it’s still a must for us every time. The atmosphere is beautiful, just steps away from the beach, the service is always amazing, and the food is consistently delicious. Plus, the prices are very reasonable.
We make it a tradition to stop by every year, and we always leave happy. On our last visit, our waitress was incredibly sweet and friendly—she even offered to take some great photos for us! It’s a fun, welcoming place, and we truly can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!

I ordered the cowboy up burger and really liked it. The food didn’t take too long, and the service was good. Overall, I had a great experience at Hennessey’s Tavern and would definitely come back.

If you've ever spent time walking around downtown Laguna Beach, you've probably passed Hennessey's Tavern. It's one of those places that's been a staple of the area for years, and every time I stop in, it reminds me why it continues to be one of the most dependable spots in town.
Laguna Beach has its own personality compared to Newport. Things move a little slower, people seem a little more relaxed, and Hennessey's fits that atmosphere perfectly. Whether you're coming in after a day at the beach, grabbing dinner before walking the coastline, or looking for a place to enjoy a few beers with friends, it always feels welcoming.
One thing I've always appreciated is how versatile the place is. During the day it's a great restaurant where you can sit down, enjoy a meal, and actually hear the conversation around your table. As the evening rolls in, the energy picks up without becoming overwhelming. It's lively enough to feel like you're part of Laguna's nightlife while still keeping that laid back beach town charm.
The food has always been consistently good. Whether you're ordering burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, or classic Irish pub favorites, everything comes out fresh and satisfying. It's comfort food done right, and it's the kind of menu where almost anyone can find something they'll enjoy.

Very good dining option in Laguna Beach. The score is not perfect because we were also interested in the opening hours (it promotes that it closes at 2 AM), but it was not so, because at 10 PM they asked us to close the account, a detail that played a little against it. Anyway, the food and the waitress service was very good, the beers at a good temperature and with interesting options. The Shepherds pie should not be missed.
