Near perfect Detroit style pizza. As good, if not better than the real stuff in MI. I got the plain pizza + pepperonis and ordered it “well done”, which is a modification you can and should make. I worried there wouldn’t be enough pepperonis on the pizza since they have one of those on the menu, but I thought they gave me an adequate amount. I drove the pizza down to the beach and luckily it didn’t lose any of its crunch in the 5-10 min commute. Gibroni’s pizza at the SC beach is pretty much heaven. I highly recommend this place.
After a few recent Detroit-style pizza reviews by Dave Portnoy, I had to find a good spot in OC. Drove more than 20 miles and Gibroni’s totally scratched the itch - really awesome pizza.
Detroit style pizza at its best. Traveling all the way from the north OC to snatch up this tasty pizza is so worth it. What is better than a great tasting pizza? Well, a great tasting GLUTEN FREE pizza. My gosh they nailed that recipe down! Doesn't taste like cardboard like those other pizza joints. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Pizza takes longer than your traditional pizza but they are pretty fast here. A few beers on tap. Nice little patio area to eat your pizza on the spot. Highly recommend this place. All pics are gluten free items.
Reached out to the business on Instagram and they confirmed that they welcome dogs! We had a party of 4 and snagged a table in less than 10 minutes. We ordered beverages from JDs and then pizza from Gibroni's. It was a bit cool while we waited; there is a breeze through the seating area so you may want a sweater. All the pizza were amazing and the dough was cooked to perfection. No burning or undercooked areas. Service was great and we will definitely be back again.
Wow! We are impressed! Great pizza and unlike anything we have in San Clemente. We ordered the From the D with added jalapeno and the Fun Guys. Both were excellent and bigger than we expected. Great toppings and sauce, super creamy cheese and unreal thick, buttery crust. Our family of 4 (with 2 teenagers) only finished one of the two large pizzas. It was even better for lunch the next day. It's not the cheapest or the fastest (90 minutes from order to pickup) but well worth the wait. This is handmade thick crust pizza. We will definitely be back. Thanks for great pizza and keep up the great product.
