Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
We were doing renovations of our house last year and were regular customers of this store. We bought some wood stains for our butcher block counter top in the kitchen but didn’t end up using them. Unfortunately we lost the receipt to them but called the store to make sure we can still return them. One of the associates (didn’t get his name) said we would be able to get store credits which was understandable without a receipt. We came into the store and was met with bad attitude and judgment by one of the supervisors who I believe his name is Tim. Tim refused to honor the words of his employee and told us he couldn’t resale any of the stains. The containers had a little bit of paint on them and dust. I offered to clean the containers so they would look more presentable but was denied. I then called back to speak to the main store manager whose name is John. He also refused to honor his employees words. In all of this, John did not offer to look at the containers himself, his only reason to not accept the items back was that he trusts what Tim told him and was standing by his decisions. I can appreciate a boss standing behind his employees but a great manager who provides great customer service would also find a way to accommodate their customers. For such a big company to denied a small store credit return is unheard of. The amount of money is not substantial to them but to us. Needless to say, they lost a long time customer who will never visit another Ganahl.
The Newer Ganahl Lumber on Stonehill is amazing. It's huge, layed out well, and has whatever you need to construct, repair or maintain on a job site, home or business. The main building has tools, paint, electrical, plumbing window displays some beautiful wood and so on. The best part is the large space makes it easier to find anything because it's not all smashed together. Outside the main building you get to pick Door #1, Door #2 or Door #3 for larger building materials. They also have covered racking for wood and other necessities. All of the people I asked where something was new exactly where it was and they were helpful and really nice. Cashiers were also pleasant and helpful. The store is really clean, well stocked, very easy to get to with plenty of parking. I'll drive the extra distance to go to this store anyday.
Is a brand new building. It looks amazing. Super clean and have everything you could imagine here. The staff is also extremely friendly. I spoke to Brandon and this guy knows more about wood than I even knew existed.
This rating should be zero stars. We ordered custom doors, exterior Dutch for our new home And they made them to open out instead of in, which is not the normal way. they also did not give us the discount we asked for it. They made The doors to open out with a right swing and they should be opening inside. I will change my review if they make it right. But as of now it doesn’t look like they are going to make it right. I would either like my money back, or I would like new doors made correctly. We are not experts in door making, so we did not know that the doors were being made wrong. Somebody should’ve discussed this with us.. My suggestion is to not use this company. Their customer service is horrible.
Best place is amazing! If you're looking for the best materials, quality, selection and service this place has it all. The environment and build out is amazing.
