Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Great experience at this Mexican restaurant in a trip mall in Laguna hills. Place was busy at around 6:30 on a Friday night. We got a booth that seated 6 of us which wasn’t to bad. Free chips and salsa. Salsa is on the spicy side. They offered us standard pico. It tried their spicy cucumber margarita that was nice. Not too sweet with a nice kick. I then had the negra model which is on tap. For dinner I had the dish and shrimp tacos that were delish and filling. Their carne asada plate looks good. Service was amazing and the led us sit there and chat until closing time.
I discovered Franco’s Famous Mexican Kitchen & Cocktails through South OC Happy Hours on Facebook, and I’m so glad I did because it has quickly become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in South Orange County. Everything I’ve tried at Franco’s Famous has been delicious. Their entrees are full of flavor, portions are generous, and the ingredients taste really fresh. And I have to say, their beans and rice are honestly some of the best I’ve had anywhere, which says a lot because that’s usually the most basic part of the plate, but they somehow make it incredible. The chips come out hot and fresh almost every time, and the salsa has the perfect chunky texture with a great kick of spice. Once you start eating it, it’s hard to stop. Franco’s Famous also has a full bar with great margaritas and craft cocktails, and the atmosphere is lively but still relaxed, making it a perfect place to meet friends, grab tacos, or enjoy a fun happy hour. Another thing I love is that Franco’s Famous offers special perks through the SOCHH VIP membership program, including access to some exclusive happy hour opportunities and food specials, which makes visiting even more fun. With locations in Laguna Hills, San Clemente, and Ladera Ranch, Franco’s Famous is definitely a spot I recommend if you're looking for great Mexican food, strong drinks, and a fun local vibe. Highly recommend.
The atmosphere was energetic with a fun and welcoming vibe, making it a perfect spot for a date night. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning. It is great to finally have a modern and stylish Mexican restaurant close to home.
Food is good, pretty efficient when the place is busy on a Tuesday. I didnt take a pic, but the fried ice cream was on point. I also didnt take a pic, but the street corn is in a bowl, and didnt really care for it. Not saying it's bad, just wasn't for me. Also wish they would do a queso dip, they have a bean dip. But all it is a bowl of beans with some cheese melted on top.
We went as a family and thought it would be fairly reasonable but when all said and done it was on the more expensive side. That's okay because we are celebrating my son's graduation from college so it's a small price to pay for a family gathering and my son chose the place. But I didn't like is we sat outside and they didn't even have the heaters ready we had to ask them and one of them was out of propane took a while for them to get that going and they finally turned him on so we can get comfortable we had some people freezing out there. I don't think the service was as good as it needs to be for the price and I'm not being a prima donna or uppity I just think it should be a little bit better. Hopefully this helps.
