Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Casual, family-friendly seafood chain restaurant next to Lazy Dog Restaurant - Fiery Crab opened recently and replaced Islands. They are located in a small lot across from the Brea Mall, right off the 57. Seating is available via bar, standard tables, and booths. Decor and furnishings are a little unique - they've got some black and blue, club-like lights mixed with a nautical theme with their very own Jack Sparrow statue! They also offer a fair amount of parking via the shared plaza lot. We came on Saturday for a late lunch and this place was empty. Food and service were alright and portions were large. It's seafood so prices were on the higher end. Overall, everything was OK but we weren't blown away.
I recently visited Fiery Crab on a busy Sunday afternoon, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is lively and fun, with ocean-themed decor that gives off a playful fisherman and pirate vibe. The restaurant is spotless and modern, making it perfect for families and kids—definitely a great place to bring the whole crew. The star of the show is, of course, the seafood! Fiery Crab brings the bold flavors of New Orleans to life with its Cajun, Creole, and soul food-inspired seafood boils. If you’re familiar with places like Boiling Crab, you’ll feel right at home. The menu is extensive, but our server did an excellent job walking us through it and explaining the different flavors and spice levels available. The service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable—definitely a highlight of the visit. I tried the fried catfish, oysters, sweet potato fries, and crab, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly. The variety of spices and sauces allows you to customize your meal to your liking, whether you want something mild or extra spicy. Fiery Crab also offers plenty of weekly and daily specials, which makes it easy to try something new without breaking the bank. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get. Overall, this is a casual, family-friendly spot that delivers great food, a fun environment, and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back!
Went on a Sunday afternoon and was scared this place would be packed. We walked right in and our drinks were at our table within minutes. Ordered the lb of shrimp and snow crabs. We ordered another pound of shrimp while still eating our first order. There was so much food we didn't even get to the other lb of shrimp. Then to our surprise they brought us out a free dessert, we were so full but felt obliged to at least eat some. Food was great and would definitely return!! 10/10
The portions were pretty large, with little cajun flavor. The service was okay but the waitress didn't tie up her hair and when she leaned over the table her hair would hover just above my plate. One person in our group didn't get his meal until we all had finished eating and had to get it to go, even with us reminding the wait staff. Nice atmosphere but not my cup of Cajun.
This was our first time, but it won't be the last. From the hostess to out server, very professional and welcoming. The service was fast and the food was good. Food was cook well. Not overcook nor under cook. The season was on point. Husband had medium I had hot. It was perfect.
