Our friends have been going to this restaurant since the original location, so they were telling us about how amazing the food is, and they were not wrong. The food was so good, service was amazing (everyone was so friendly and helpful especially our server Jorge), and the environment wasb lively but not too loud. The owner came by and recognized my friend and her family, and was asking how their other 2 kids were that weren't here. So friendly, really great people.

How sad.. I was planning to leave a great review until we went to the bar as it's first come first serve.. as we were about to sit down my wife and I got approached by the Owner.. he told us the seats had been reserved. We were so confused as how they were reserved if it's a "self seating area" and there was no reserved signs there ? The employees and owner had told us it was “self seating” .. he mentioned that the group waiting had been waiting for 20 mins.. as if that mattered, we had been waiting for over 1 hour!! He mentioned how "he can't make everyone happy"
But all he cares about is making his friends happy. We have been here many times and have spent thousands of dollars here .. but all he cares about is his non-Hispanic friends .. so sad for a "Mexican restaurant".. it's crazy tbh..
if it wasn't for the great bartenders and their great attitude we would've spent our money elsewhere..

Fantastic food and cocktails. The Tamarind mezcal margarita was amazing. It perfectly complimented their Chicken Mole enchiladas wich is a MUST every time we go here. The ceviche is so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend coming here. 😍

Definitely a gem of a food location. Great atmosphere, the outside or inside patio is great. The bar decor is inviting, the outer eatery has a great fireplace and relaxation lounge chairs. The location though, is often times difficult to find parking. Filled , small parking location, please come 15 min early to find a parking stall. From Great and friendly servers, to modern decor, great floor layout, and the star of the location would be the Food!
Down right amazing soups 🍲 and the taquitos were splendid. Added, the sauce had a kick and the location pleases everyone with a low music 🎶 level, allowing for easy conversations and friendly times.

Come for the Fajitas, Stay for the Vibes — El Z is a Whole Experience
El Zarape (or El Z as the cool kids call it) isn’t just dinner — it’s a vibe. From the stunning tequila bottle displays to the neon wall that tells you you’re the salsa to its taco (blushing, thank you), this place knows how to serve ambiance alongside the entrées.
We started with chips and salsa that were so good I briefly considered canceling my actual meal and just going full-basket mode. Thankfully, I didn’t — because the fajitas? Absolute showstopper. Tender, juicy, loaded with flavor and grilled veggies, and served sizzling hot like they were fresh out of a telenovela plot twist.
The portions are generous, the plating is beautiful, and the service? Warm, welcoming, and fast without feeling rushed. The menu has all the classics (enchiladas, tacos, soups, mid-day combos), plus a thoughtfully crafted margarita and cocktail list for those who like their lime with a little tequila and their tequila with a lot of flair.
Whether you’re there for date night, family lunch, or just because it’s Tuesday and you deserve joy — El Zarape delivers.
