Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
came here for breakfast for the first time today and had a fantastic experience. first of all, the food was delicious. we got the ny steak and omelette and both dishes were flavorful and cooked well. and the service here was absolutely stellar. ginger was the server who helped my table and she was very (but not overly) attentive and so kind! she definitely made our experience enjoyable and pleasant :) the decor is cute and quaint too. gr8 atmosphere and vibes~ can’t wait to come back again! highly recommend this spot.
Awesome experience at this location! WOW! We loved it, party of two on a Saturday around 9:15 am. Parking can be hectic especially during peak hours, but if you wait a little bit, you’ll find a spot. Be patient! Outside and inside seating available, plenty of space. They have live shows outside in the evenings I believe. Customer service was above and beyond, you can feel the warm and homey feeling as the staff interacts with all the customers, especially the regulars! We will be making this our Saturday morning spot, we don’t mind the drive from Lake Forest (about 30 minutes) to Costa Mesa. Love the family and chill vibe here. Our waitress was very kind, professional, and attentive! Coffee was really good, I was surprised. And very pleased with the quality of the food. My wife really enjoyed her chilaquiles, and I enjoyed my french toast combo. A nice and relaxing breakfast! Our waitress, Madeleine, said to us before we left “You two look like you have the joy of the Lord with you.” What a kind gesture! We try to be faithful Christians as we give glory to the Lord through our day!
The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. I'm gluten free and they had both bread and buns available but were not super knowledgeable about cross contamination, so there is a risk there. I choose fresh berries instead of fries with the Monte Cristo sandwich as a result. My husband had corned beef hash and eggs with regular toast.
It is rare to find a small hometown cafe. Dick Church has been around in the same location as long as I can remember however I haven't visited in several years. Yesterday I stopped by and to my surprise the food and atmosphere we're still fantastic. A lot of locals still greeting their favorite waitress with a respectful response to all. Even though the place is out of small makeover, it still has the cozy hometown atmosphere that's easily enjoyed and the food is good.
A really delicious breakfast option in Costa Mesa. I would not really call it a diner because it is a bit more upscale than that. It does have a very 1960s, early 70s vibe to it which I loved. Inside is very large and there are many different rooms with different seating options. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. There’s a large free parking lot attached so we were able to find a space a few feet from the door. Our server was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out faster than expected. They have a very large menu with all sorts of classic dishes on it, but there’s enough variety that you will be able to try different items during each visit. I started off with a cup of the Chili and thought it was surprisingly good. It had a very hearty flavor to it, lots of meat, and it was seasoned really well. I also loved that they covered it in onions and overall I really enjoyed it. For my breakfast I chose the Country Fried Steak because I’ve only heard great things about it. I can confirm it is delicious and I would recommend. It was perfectly crispy, but not overly done, and was fair in size. Overall, a really solid breakfast or lunch option if you are in the Orange County area.
