Had an incredible dining experience at Dark Magic Sushi! From the moment we walked in, the service was awesome, the staff is genuinely welcoming and creates such a great atmosphere.
The highlight of the evening was definitely the otoro. It was exceptionally fresh and arguably the best I’ve had; keep in mind that it is seasonal, so if you see it on the menu when you visit, do not pass it up! The craftsmanship behind the sushi here is clear, and the chef was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our meal.
We also ordered some of their rolls and appetizers. The '911' and 'Dark Knight' rolls were both packed with flavor and incredibly well-made. We also ordered the crispy spicy tuna rice cakes, that satisfying crunch paired with the fresh spicy tuna is a must-order. To top it all off, I tried the Kyoto Matcha IPA for the first time. I didn't know what to expect, but it was surprisingly smooth and refreshing, making for a perfect pairing with the sushi, and perhaps one of my new goto IPA’s!
Dark Magic Sushi has that perfect blend of quality food and local vibes. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great, authentic sushi experience. I will definitely be back!

First time here and everything was so tasty! The rolls were all unique - my favorite was the Dark Knight. The matcha beer was probably the coolest thing i’ve ever tried. Our waitress Jamie was friendly and gave us good recommendations to try. Met the sushi chefs on our way out and they were the best! Will definitely come back. 10/10

Chef Levi has outdone himself. We have loved Chef Levi since he was at the original Muse Sushi on Avenida Del Mar in San Clemente (a long time ago) and were ecstatic to hear he opened his own spot.
Don't be fooled by this hole in the wall... it's one of the best omakase experiences you can find in Orange County. Our friends from Seattle agree, as do all of the others we take to see Chef Levi. Details like smoke, gold leaf, quail eggs, and flowers elevate the entire experience.
Not only does he have innovative omakase with details that blow you away, he has delicious rolls! The Batman sushi roll is a family favorite. Don't miss out on this epic experience.

THE BEST EXPERIENCE! I had the dark magic sashimi special "Chef Levi's Selection" and it was the best sashimi I've had in a while, no soy sauce needed. The staff and Levi were also welcoming and hospitable, it made my girlfriend and I's trip for my birthday memorable!

Dark Magic Sushi was D-freaking-licious. Ashton and I recently stopped in for dinner, and the food was immaculate. Everything came out quickly, tasted incredibly fresh, and was clearly prepared with a lot of care. Once we were seated, we were able to enjoy a full sushi meal in less than 45 minutes.
The wait to be seated was longer than expected, and the service was a little slow at times because the restaurant was completely full. Our server could have checked in with us more often, but those were relatively minor issues compared to how good the food was.
Overall, Dark Magic Sushi delivered an excellent meal and easily earned five stars. We will be back and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality sushi in San Clemente.
