Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Do it Jae’s way!! Just finished my third pack of lessons with Jae at Costa Mesa Country Club, and the improvement in my swing is utterly bonkers. His approach is simple — no daft alignment sticks or nonsensical training aids/gimmicks, just clear, easy to understand coaching focused on swing fundamentals. Every lesson was both fun and rewarding, with concepts explained in a way that makes sense. I’ve taken 15-20 shots off my average round, which speaks volumes about the quality of his instruction. Now if I could just stop bloody peeking!! If you’re looking for thoughtful, effective coaching that delivers real results, I couldn’t recommend Jae highly enough. Stop wasting time at the range practicing bad habits, or sitting at home searching for local instructors! Jae is the way. I wish I’d met him years ago. “Men lie, women lie, ball and video don’t lie, baby!!”
Can only comment on the driving range but its its in decent and offers hitting on grass as well. The putting greens are well kept for a public golf course. Only thing I didn’t like was the staff in the office are not the friendliest people around. Maybe let the guy up front have a few more rounds as a perk for working there may cheer this guy up.
Game at Costa Mesa Country Club starts with 2 Par 5 holes, both pretty easy, just never experienced this kind of arrangements before [Laugh] Followed by 381 yards Par 4, but a HDCP 1 hole, but except the hilly green, honestly, didn't find the difficulty to rank Hole 3 as HDCP 1. Wait, there's another Par 5 in Front 9 ?! YES, Hole 6 is another Par 5, a dogleg left along the the running trail, have to be careful to prevent OB. And you'll face an uphill in front of the green. Hole 14, the fourth Par 5, is probably another hole worth mentioning, a big pond at around 220 yards from the tee box, need to drive the ball to the right side of it, and lay up for your 2nd shot. Overall, Costa Mesa Country Club has all the things you're looking for from a country club, just a bit old.
3.5 hours to play 9 holes today, an average Monday. I had enough time to start and quit smoking before we got to the 5th hole. It’s an absolute travesty because the course is well maintained and fun to play, but you can barely call it golfing when you wait 10-25 minutes to tee off on every hole.
Played the Mesa Linda course the day after Thanksgiving and honestly, great experience overall. The course was in excellent condition, well-maintained fairways and greens, and you can’t beat the value for 18 holes if you’re able to get all the way through. It was crowded (holiday golf, what do you expect), so be prepared for some waiting on tee boxes during peak days. We made it through 13 before daylight and pace caught up with us, but still enjoyed every minute. Driving range is solid, bar is a good stop for the 19th hole, and for the price, this place delivers. Would definitely play again.
