Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
A charming coffee spot located in a Union Market spot with a farm style interior design and plenty of seating to enjoy your coffee to some soft upbeat music playing in the background. The barista Daniela is friendly and fast with her service. I ordered the White Chocolate Rasberry Latte which was rich, smooth, and not too sweet, just how I like it. I love the art foam work as well.
I keep forgetting to write a review, but cannot speak highly enough about Concrete! It's the only coffee place I recommend to local friends nowadays, and definitely my preferred. The staff are attentive even when there's a high volume of patrons, and are always so friendly. When my family reached out via their Instagram questioning whether their service was celiac safe, they gave a very thorough response and ensured they would do their best to accommodate. My family member with celiac was able to safely order, and the staff took special care to ensure that the preparation wouldn't make her sick. The coffee itself is probably the best I've had, and I genuinely look forward to coming every week. The menu is expansive and inventive, so there are definitely a myriad of things to try. I don't even mind the price point as it's so well-made and I wish to support the staff how I can. Thank you, Concrete!
The owner (Jose) along with the other employees are absolutely delightful people! Coffee is great with a properly sized menu. Most people can find something they love here. Located on the second floor of the kaleidoscope on the freeway side.
The coffee here is fine at best but I can’t imagine it’s very good based on other context cues. They serve their cortisol in these cheap thin paper cups which leaks PFAS into your drink and makes it taste like paper. Secondly they use the cheapest Smart & Final “first street” brand of sugar. At least use a raw sugar. Also they ask for $1 tip on a $5 espresso shot. 👀 just make your coffee at home.
Amazing coffee, and the lavender matcha is my personal fave. Hot or iced, it’s always perfect. Always a warm & welcoming atmosphere thanks to the wonderful owners who put in the effort, and it shows. Love this place!
