Wow I really loved their fresh sashimi! It’s soo delicious! Thick cut, No funky smell, really fresh and high quality fish here! Everything that I got was super yummy. My favorite was the chubby sashimi and Brea roll.
The service is very friendly staff and food comes out fast. They explained really well if you have any questions on the menu.
The ambiance is cute, has plenty of seating, inside and outside. It has some cute cherry blossom decorations. You can also watch the chef make the sushi.
The quality of the fish and food is amazing! They were not cheap when it comes to cutting the fish it’s big and chunky! I’m glad chubby opened up a sushi/ramen combo restaurant. The ramen is very flavorful and the marinated chase was yummy! Everything was soo fresh, tasty and good quality. I will definitely comeback. This is my go to sushi spot now in Brea!

This place is astounding. Even though the servers’ English may not be good, they will treat you really well how they can. They had taken my order wrong but compensated me rightfully. I made sure to tip a lot because of that just to return the favor.
Food is really fresh quality. First time i went, I got chirashi - it was so fresh and one of the most buttery sashimi I had. Second time i went i got a lot of rolls and could still taste the premium quality. They did put a little too much sauce so id advise against that. But still great!

Checked out Chubby Sushi & Ramen in Downtown Brea recently and really enjoyed it. The location is great if you're already walking around the area, and the food definitely exceeded my expectations. The Chubby Sashimi Platter was the highlight for me. Everything tasted fresh and the presentation looked just as good as it tasted. I also really liked the Chubby Roll, which ended up being one of my favorite bites of the meal. We also had the salmon with blue crab, fresh oysters, and spicy miso ramen. The ramen was surprisingly on point and tasted like a bowl you'd get from a dedicated ramen spot, which I wasn't expecting. It rounded out the meal really well. Overall, everything we ordered was solid, and I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in OC.

Quite possibly the best lunch deal out there! For about $17-22, you can get a three course lunch. For people like me who can’t decide, this is amazing. I went with the tonkatsu ramen, nigiri sushi and tempura for about $22. My buddy ordered very similarly and we split the seared bluefin tuna with asparagus appetizer. Everything was pretty good, but have had better across the board. If it were for lunch combo, I would have given 5 stars because it’s rare to get these types of options with this level of quality. I do wonder if the nigiri or other items would be better if not part of the lunch special. I guess we will have to find out for dinner because there is no way I wouldn’t order the lunch again if it’s offered!

Wife and I were in the neighborhood. We saw the rating and thought. Let's go and try it out! We started with Edamame. Then salmon sashimi🍣, Genki roll and Tomato Ramen 🍜(never seen this at any other restaurant before!) 😋 The service was excellent and friendly 😀
