Their sashimi and rolls are so fresh!! Service is friendly and fast. Becoming my fav sushi spot! We ordered : - chubby sashimi ( toro, bluefin tuna, salmon, scallop, sweet shrimp, etc ) the cuts are thick and literally melt in your mouth - sashimi salad - chubby roll ( recommend ) - karaage ( fried chicken- so crisp!! ) - tai fish with caviar- so good! Inside decors are cute as well- I think it’s a cat fish theme. Located in downtown brea, there’s parking behind the restaurant but limited- but there’s another parking structure across the street
My hubby and our friends enjoyed their fresh sushi. I really like their yummy tempura, caterpillar roll, dragon roll and really good Tonkatsu ramen, full of flavor👍👍👍 it’s a bit small; tight space & very crowded (probably because their food is yummy)😋
HIDDEN GEM IN DOWNTOWN BREA Dive into a world of umami flavors! CHUBBY SUSHI & RAMEN has fish flown in from Japan! High Quality! Fresh ingredients! Melts in your mouth!! They are serving up premium sushi, sashimi, special rolls, signature rolls, hand rolls, ramen, appetizers and fresh wasabi. Serving up high end fresh fish for lunch and dinner. We tried the Sashimi Salad, Chubby Sushi 10 Piece (premium sushi omakase), Chubby Ninja Roll, Brea Roll, Kanpachi with Caviar and Tonkotsu Ramen. Amazing presentation and fantastic flavors! Alice, Chef Frank and Chef Jimmy had wonderful customer service and prepared a spectacular meal! Great for a casual meal with friends, a celebration or date night!
What phenomenal lunch @chubby.brea! I am still in awe of the quality of the sashimi and sushi here. It was definitely worth the drive. Now I know where to get premium sushi in Downtown Brea. The sashimi was so tender and melts in your mouth. I loved the fresh grated wasabi to add to the sashimi, which gives an extra kick. It surely elevates the fish. Here's what we got. Edamame $6.99 2x Miso Soup $3.99 each 4x Kumamoto Oysters $3.99 each Tuna Marrow $8.99 Chubby Sashimi Deluxe set 20 pieces seasonal fish from Japan $89.99 Salmon with Blue Crab Roll $18.99 Pink Lady $19.99 Sashimi Salad $16.99 Chubby Roll $17.99 I still need to go and try the ramen.
Such a great place to vibe, have a good time and enjoy good food! Don't sleep on these guys. They truly are making a difference here with their bluefin tuna! It's just that good! It's fresh and over the top with flavors!
