Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
We visited Chart House in Dana Point last Thursday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We didn’t have a reservation, so we expected a bit of a wait, and it turned out to be about 45 minutes. Honestly, the wait was worth it. While waiting, we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings—the restaurant overlooks the marina, and the view is stunning, especially as the sun starts to set. Once seated, we were immediately struck by how cozy yet elegant the atmosphere felt. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made our anniversary dinner feel special. The food lived up to the setting—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Every dish we tried was delicious and served promptly once we were seated. Parking was easy thanks to the valet service, which takes both cash and card. It’s a small convenience that makes the visit even smoother, especially in a busy marina area. Overall, Chart House Dana Point delivered a memorable evening for a special occasion. Between the gorgeous marina views, great food, and comfortable ambiance, it’s a place we would definitely return to—next time, probably with a reservation to skip the wait!
We had a wonderful dinner at Chart House located in Dana Point. The view was absolutely beautiful, and everyone was so nice. Our server was amazing—too bad I forgot his name! Chart House is highly recommended—if you’re visiting Dana Point, you should definitely check out this amazing restaurant with delicious food. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. Thank God we found this restaurant. We had an amazing experience on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 7 PM.
Happy hour is Monday thru Friday 4 - 6pm. Arrive early if you want a spot on the patio. Luckily we snagged the last table. Jose, our server, was excellent. Food was very good and a great value. Beautiful views!
We were in a party of 6 around 5:30pm on 7/12/25, let me say the dinner was Excellent, Tops and plating was gorgeous. Our waiter was Delightful and very courteous, gave us great entree suggestions to. The Veiw is simply Stunning. Our problem with the night was the " Valet " service around 6:30 pm, these two guys were Impatient, Disrespectful and not Welcoming at all, with Tip and Fee there was " Absolutely No Thank You" at all, we had two cars and this should be addressed by Management, we will return and these two guys are there we will say something. Thank you again for such a Delicious dinner and great service minus the Valet guys .
Views: spectacular Service: below average. Super slow. You'll be waiting over an hour for your food and receive little attention. Your service may depend on your ethnicity. Mahi: way below average. It's basically fish jerky. It was so dry and hard that a knife won't even cut it. Filet mignon: we sent it back bc it was overcooked. Prime rib: average Lamb chops: above average. Drinks: average, doesn't taste good but looks fancy. Lava cake: get this!!!! It was delicious 10/10 Oysters: ok Parking: there is paid valet but we found free street parking and walked a few mins. Overall, the view and the restaurant was so beautiful. We were prepared for mediocre food. We were disappointed by service. So it evens out and I'd say it was an ok experience for the price. I would give 3.5 starts but that's not an option here.
