Captain Matt, First Hand Michael, and Photographer Andy were all amazing! They were very hospitable and welcomed us right on board! They took us to all the right places in the ocean and we saw several species of whales and dolphins! I loved when we sailed right next to the dolphins; it felt like we were swimming right next to them! This activity was the best experience that my wife and I had during our trip to California! We highly recommend this tour and are willing to come back again during migration season.

We had an amazing time with Captain Dave's Dana Point Whale Watching! The boat was fantastic, the crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish.
The highlight of the trip was seeing thousands of dolphins swimming all around the boat. It was incredible! The underwater viewing windows were the cherry on top—we got to watch the dolphins swimming beneath the boat, which made the experience even more unforgettable.
If we lived closer, we'd absolutely be back again and again. We highly recommend Captain Dave's to anyone looking for an unforgettable whale and dolphin watching adventure. Thank you for such a great experience!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Experience – Absolutely Incredible!
We had the BEST time with Captain Dave’s Whale Watching! From start to finish, the entire experience exceeded our expectations.
A huge shout-out to Captain Alex, First Mate Hannah, and photographer Dealyn for making our trip so memorable. Captain Alex did an amazing job getting us to all the action safely, and Hannah was an absolute vibe! Her energy, enthusiasm, and genuine love for what she does made the whole experience even more fun. She kept everyone engaged, educated us about the wildlife, and made every sighting feel so exciting.
We were incredibly lucky—we saw tons of dolphins, humpback whales, minke whales, and even a sea lion! It was truly magical.
Dealyn captured beautiful photos throughout the tour, and we especially loved learning that 100% of the photo purchase proceeds go toward rebuilding wells in Uganda. We absolutely love supporting a company that gives back in such a meaningful way. It made purchasing our photos feel even more special.

We had a lovely afternoon at Captain Dave's! We were greeted at check in by a sweet birthday wish for my husband which was a nice personal touch. The crew were extremely knowledgeable. We spent a good amount of time watching Risso dolphins and saw some common dolphins on our way back in. Would definitely go again in hopes to see whales! Thank you to the crew!

Awesome experience! We saw 2 types of dolphins and whales! The staff Matt and Michael were awesome, but Andy the photographer’s enthusiasm was the greatest! Hopefully Andy can see this review I think he’ll love the photo of him! Next time we are near Dana Point we will def be returning!
PS: it was difficult to hear from the front of the boat. Another speaker would be helpful!
