Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Let me start off by saying, what a hidden gem of a place! This was our first time there, my boyfriend and I. We wanted to try a place that was new and different. Was getting tired of seeing never ending Mexican restaurants. Don’t get me wrong, we love Mexican food, but time to venture out for a variety. Never had Turkish coffee, delights except for Baklava or breakfast before, so we were looking forward to the experience. Okay, it was YUMMY!! Service was wonderful and welcoming. The owner, Canan was such a sweet lady! Was a pleasure meeting her, she was very engaging and was the one who brought out our drinks and food. Ambiance was casual, decor was very pretty inside, great cafe place to meet up with a friend or two because, or to go on a 4th date. Definitely going back again to try Menemen and other delights.
If you are around LA and Orange County this is the breakfast place to go to. We loved every food entree we got. Simit is divine, they have real balkaymak and the breakfast items work quite well for both Turkish breakfast and for European style breakfast, too. The su borek is freshly handmade. I found a place to come back to time and time again. This is better home-made food than what we had in some of the best places in Turkey.
I’ve been to Canan’s a couple of times, and each visit is even better than the last! Their choices of teas are amazing. This time I tried the Summer Peach tea which was tastes exactly as it sounds. The assortment of sandwiches, desserts, and scones all taste so wonderful. I brought my daughters and they also loved it. We got plenty of content and really just enjoyed our afternoon here. Thank you, Canan’s!
This place is a hidden gem in Orange County! Family owned and operated with charming people and great food . The breakfast combo we had was excellent along with Turkish coffee , tea and caffe late . It’s one of those places that draw you back to taste some more of their delicious food.
Stumble into this place this morning after a craving just for Turkish coffee…what I ended up with are Soujuk Omelette , Turkish coffee, baklava and tea (which is complimented). The woman or women there are wonderful and nice, I can’t wait til Thursday to do it again (after 2 days burning some fat).
