We visited Brussel Bistro in Laguna Hills and had a lovely experience overall. A big plus for us is that they have a kids’ menu — it really makes dining out with a child easier and more enjoyable. I also truly appreciate the variety of sides, especially the vegetable options. I love having different veggie choices — it’s not something every restaurant offers. It made us smile that we were seated right next to the famous “peeing boy” statue from Brussels — such a fun and quirky touch! The food was delicious and the service was very good. It was a bit noisy, but it was a Friday evening in Laguna, so that’s completely understandable. Overall, we left happy and satisfied and would definitely come back again!

I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. The food was delectable, and the service was both professional and warm. We particularly appreciated their mushroom soup and the trout, which was expertly prepared and presented. However, the side of ratatouille was not as impressive as we had hoped but still decent!

A little slice of Belgium in Cali - love the atmosphere with the dark wood, close tables, warm fire and mood lighting. Super friendly staff helps walk through the menu and the specials and, most importantly, the beer. Unique selection of Belgian and local breweries on tap offering a flight of 4 smaller pours to be able to try a wider variety. Menu has a huge variety of Belgian eats plus Cali fare and American favorites. Not sure if this is on Tuesday only, but they had an all you can eat Mussles offering which allows you to select any of their sauces in one pound increments. I only made it through three which were each delicious but the chlorizo was my favorite as there were added veggies like fennel in the sauce as well. Mussles come with all you can eat fries too. Yum. We also tried the bacon wrapped Brie was was tasty.

Fun experience with great food options, many of which true Belgian classics, such as the grey shrimp croquettes, steak tartare, fabulous fries with homemade mayonnaise, steak au poivre, and bouchée à la reine (here named Creamy Chicken). All very nicely prepared with quality ingredients and beautifully presented. Of note too is the massive offering of Belgian specialty beers…all served in the appropriate glasses. Nice! We ate on the terrace which I strongly suggest over the somewhat cavernous below street- level dining room. Keep in mind that this is Laguna Beach and prices, while warranted, are not cheap. Two appetizers, four main dishes (two steak frites, one tartare, one large mussels) three beers, one dessert, generous 20% tip: $300. Quite a bit, but then it’s a splurge (unless of course you live in Laguna and live this life style 24/7). Recommended.
