I’ve been wanting to try this place so we decided to give this one pace a try during OCRW! We made reservations and got a seat on their generous size patio! The water guys were great! We never had an empty glass of water during our meal! That’s impressive, haha. We both got the OCRW meal. We got 1 of each appetizer- gem salad & tomato bisque. It took a little bit for the food to come out when it wasn’t that crowded but we enjoyed the view. Both were good. Then we waited a bit for our food but we got the lamb shanks which was huge!! The server said it was about 12oz! My friend said it was good! I got the seabass with veggies which I really enjoyed! Light fish and loved the veggies! We both got the crème brûlée which was a good way to end the deal! Everything was delicious! You also get an amazing view of the sunset which we didn’t even plan. Definitely worth a try!!
This place was a true gem!! We had the halibut and the jidori chicken schnitzel and both were delicious! The wild caught halibut was one of the best I have had... The vegetables were SO fresh and crisp and colorful.. honestly I cannot recall having a better meal than I experienced here in a LONG time. The food made me FEEL healthy and good and the outside dining patio was beautiful and cozy with the fire heaters. And the topper was our waitress .. she was absolutely amazing and for some reason I never got her name... Bottom line, do not hesitate to go eat here. It is true perfection!
First time visiting Sapphire and found it to be a nice place to celebrate a birthday. Portions are large, so we split the 45-Day aged, bone-in ribeye with burgundy wine reduction, done medium which was good. Another diner had his medium rare which looked more to my preference. The blue cheese & garlic mashed potatoes were good too, not too rich. I was worried that the blue cheese would overwhelm the potatoes but they mix it very light, so it enhanced the flavors nicely. The organic broccoli, wild mushrooms, and fava beans, mixed with the potatoes, so it was an eclectic collaboration of flavors. The drinks tend to lean to the sweet side. Even the Smoke Circles had a Long Island Iced Tea sweetness to it. The waiter was great and explained that we just missed the halibut season, which was my first choice. The restaurant is a little loud but able to have a conversation. We sat inside but the outdoor patio is very nice with plenty of heaters. Pricing is on the higher end coming in at just under $400 for a dinner for four. The seats were all full, so the economy appears to be doing well. Be sure to park in the lot directly behind the restaurant across the walking alley. There are two levels, so plenty of parking.
I wish I could give a review on just the burger, which was perfection, but it was the way that we were greeted at the door, seated at our table, the way that our waitress introduced herself, and was so patient with all of us at the table, the warmth of the manager, and the way the entire staff worked together as a team, because that kind of warmth makes the food taste even better. We came to Sapphire for happy hour, and really everything was delicious, but that burger was made to perfection, the cheese melted perfectly, and the waitress came by to make sure that it was just exactly as I wished it to be. So if you’re looking for one of the best burgers, if not possibly THE best juicy thick cheesy burger in all of Laguna Beach, look no further than Sapphire! PS, I have tons of video and photos of just how exceptional everything at our table was!
We really enjoyed this place! The portions were absolutely huge and incredibly delicious. We even managed to sit at that corner table, and the view of the ocean and the street behind was just stunning. So cozy, so beautiful. I would give it 100 stars out of 100! I loved it so much, thank you. The service was top-class!
