Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
The hotel itself is pleasant and modern. We enjoyed the room and its amenities and the property's amenities. The train that runs by often is quite loud when it blows its horn four times at the crossing. Unfortunately, our window did not close all the way and the sound was so disturbing between 4am and 10:30pm if we were in the room. I figured out that the window frame did not align with the latch so the seal would close and block out excess noise. I reported this to the front desk staff at check out. I'd opt for a room facing one of the streets if I stayed there again. Parking at $22 per night is excessive considering the hotel owns the lot and no one is competing for spots. It's a money grab. I would consider this if I need to stay in the area again, which is likely. I found the staff friendly and accommodating. The pool and patio areas are welcoming and clean. There is easy access to restaurants, shopping, the beach and the freeway.
We recently stayed at this Residence Inn in Dana Point and had a great experience. The front desk staff was incredibly accommodating from check-in to check-out and made everything easy for our family. The hotel was very clean throughout, and the rooms were a great size for a family of four, with plenty of space to relax and get settled. Overall, it was a comfortable, convenient stay and we would definitely come back the next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend for families visiting South County!
This Residence Inn has staff that are obviously proud of their work and the establishment! The service is absolutely top notch and friendly to a level of a much much more expensive hotel. Every staff member we encountered was top-notch. Mason in particular was outstanding at anticipating needs and problem-solving. We stayed for almost 2 weeks and chose it because the location was near the events and meetings we had to attend. The excellent service and amenities were a bonus. The price is more than reasonable. The room very clean and well kept. The pool, hot tub, exercise room, and putting green are a great bonus. Everything was clean and well maintained. The breakfast is typical of what’s included at this class of hotel.
While I did have a billing issue, they did correct the issue. It took some work to get in touch with a Manager but once I did, the Assistant General Manager, Nomi Gerber, reversed the charge for me. She also mentioned she would address with the team. Thanks for making it right. I'll continue to stay here for my business trips. I booked a one night stay at this hotel through American Express and paid $285 up front. Upon arrival, the front desk "had an issue" with their computer and finished check-in at the other desk. After reconciling my expenses, I noticed the charge from American Express, $285, along with another charge from the hotel for $251.21 for the same room. I was charged twice for the same room. I called Marriott Bonvoy and the agent agreed that I was charged twice. I also spoke with an agent from the Residence Inn by Marriott Dana Point San Juan Capistrano and the employee also confirmed I was charged twice for the same room. After disputing the extra charge with American Express, Marriott Bonvoy is still refusing a credit after their employees, on recorded lines, verified I was charged twice.
The bed mattress is very bouncy(it's rare these days), the ceiling is extremely thin and shakes by the occupant above, and the train whistles. If your sleep is light, bring construction ear blugs, ask the 3rd floor room and get your own bed if you have a company.
