The food was pretty spanking good, but I fear that it could have been better had we ordered the deep dish. We just weren’t that hungry, but needed to feed the little ones. The layout of the place is a bit awkward if you have got a stroller or such since the front door immediately goes up a few sets of stairs, but aside from that there was the heat. The restaurant ran a bit warm, but it could have just been because of the heater outside. The place seemed to be a family magnet as there were tons of kiddos inside. Gotta go back and check out the deep dish next time around~
Food was just fine. Nothing exceptional, but fine. Don't expect anything better than a TV dinner. Scaled with the price proportionally, which is a rarity in the Mission area of SJC. The atmosphere however is very lacking (extremely loud), and the service barely makes up for it, as they themselves get too rambunctious to be considered polite. Additionally, several front desk workers gazed expectantly at my girlfriend and I numerous times as we were waiting to be seated, but despite our body language heavily insinuating that we ready to be seated, we received not so much as a "we'll be right with you, thank you." Just blank stares. There was one lady however that was very friendly, so we appreciated the respectful demeanor. Unfortunately, our waitress was not so kind. She acted nice but the way she glared at us and other patrons was condescending and offensive. We were barely done with our food and she rudely slapped a payment tray onto our table without asking us if we were done. In addition to not feeling very welcome, the food was poor to just okay. By the second slice I could tell the crust was reheated and was so appalled I could not finish it. Overall Selma's is definitely not a place I'd recommend for good food, and definitely don't expect the service to be so cordial.
Guys, I dunno what to tell ya... even when they are having a bad or off day, this place is still the spot to go. They never disappoint. 6 of us went in last night around 7:00 PM and it appeared there was only one person serving the floor and one bartender serving the bar area. Our server, Leslie C, did not make it even seem that way. She took great care of us and was keeping us informed along the way as well. I have a lot of health concerns and they were very helpful, knowledgeable, and kind about it. More servers like her. She deserves a raise, y'all!
Took the train from san diego to get lunch. The Chicago pizza was tasty and has really good sauce. We got a medium pepperoni and it was almost too much food but we finished it. We'll be back!
Glad I stopped in. Hidden gem with GREAT Chicago Style pizza (they use some top quality cheese and marinara sauce on top a well balanced crust). Comfortable outdoor seating and atmosphere. Service is very responsive. Would definitely eat here again. And did I mention it is very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality!
