A phenomenal dining experience! Being fairly new to Shabu / Hot Pot going in seemed very intimidating especially after looking at the menu. But once our server Jimmy came over he took care of everything. He perfectly was able to guide us to making the correct choices for ourselves, and was an absolutely blast to be served by!! The broth was truly the star of the show at dinner. They had an amazing balance of flavors and Jimmy even helped us season our broths and our meats for us! I rarely remember my servers name, but I'll always remember the experience here being served by Jimmy. It is fairly cost efficient factoring in the quality and has reasonably priced alcohol. I was SHOCKED how empty the location was on a Saturday night around 7PM. This may be attributed to the fact the the parking comes up quick and seems limited if it was truly busy. Summary: An amazing experience worth trying! Put your faith in the server if you are intimidated and you won't be disappointed. Ask for Jimmy!
First Timer and we enjoyed it very much. We live in the city but always drove by. We were glad we tried Slice. Very clean granite stove tables, waiter was informative, helpful and great service. Dined in and finished entrees without leaving a crumb. Soup and Veggies are all you can eat. Amount of meat is first ordered. No sticky tables and presentation done well and adds to enjoyment.
If I could rate this half a star I would. My friend and I came on a Wednesday night 1 hour+ before closing. Not only were there only 2 other table full of people with us, our food took a long time to arrive. The Napa cabbage was not fresh and while I was cooking, I had a piece of plastic on my mushroom. I can understand this would be an issue if the restaurant is busy, but this is inexcusably dumb. The meat was also full of fat, I understand if this was an all you can eat I would set my expectations low, but for a 4 Oz plate and the price is $25+ is laughable. The waiter and waitress were also not as attentive with water refills. I am never coming back.
I was not expecting such a place! The bar, hot soup on the spot and food was good. The service was easy and kind!
Slice Shabu restaurant in Huntington Beach is a good choice for shabu dining. The flavor options are excellent, the food is fresh, the meat, seafood, chicken, and vegetable options are sufficient, sauces and spice levels are perfection! I do wish you could try more than just 2 sauces, and under most categories as you build your meal; if you choose certain options, you are charged more for certain items. You can easily pay $40 for a shabu bowl, too much, in my opinion. Slice is definitely more expensive than even the all-you-can eat choices in the area. It was a solid meal for this evening, however, I'm not sure if this would be our first choice for Shabu next time, just based on price.
