This place is honestly odd, they don’t even have the basic or popular flavors for people like myself who like to play it safe. All the flavors are really abstract and ones I’ve never heard of before. When I asked for a sample cup so I can try and decide which of the odd flavors I was told they don’t offer samples, which makes sense because they would never sell anything if people got to try the flavors (they don’t taste good). On top of all of that the girl that worked there was an airhead. Won’t be returning.
Why does it have to taste so good! Cute little local frozen yogurt place in Mission Viejo with nice management that helps you or your kids decide what favorite ice cream treat to have. They also have birthday cakes and açaí bowls available. Best seating is outside as just a couple small tables inside. They had a lot of fun flavors to choose from and so many toppings like hot fudge or gummy worms. I got sprinkles which is my favorite. Cold and delicious.
I luv Menchies in general, but I could feel the cost cutting ✂️ right away at this location. Atmosphere felt dark & is poorly lit. They don't give samples. Really didn't care how the cold toppings are prepackaged in plastic cups. We don't need that much, it creates unnecessary waste, & stuff doesn't taste good when stored in plastic for God knows how long they've been in there. Thought the flavors could use a refresh too. Not all, but a lot of them look like they've been there for a while.
This location sucks. The man working at the counter is RUDE. My family wanted to try the yucky flavors (asked for samples). Guy says oh no we don't have sample cups. Ok fine however people in our family are autistic and neurodivergent so we wanted to make sure the flavors we picked tasted good. The first sign that we should've just walked out of the store is all the toppings PRE PACKAGED into wasteful plastic lidded containers. The guy working then then insulted me multiple times saying I don't know ifbyou can understand blah blah. Then proceed to ask someone in our party what is wrong with me. Appalling customer service. The flavors are awful but you wouldn't even be able to tell because they don't let you taste it so we all ended up spending money on ice cream that got thrown out. Over $20 wasted. We have been to a dozen menchies and have NEVER encou tired silicone appalling customer service . If I could give this location a negative rating I would. DO NOT recommend this location at all. Very unwelcoming atmosphere. Take you're money elsewhere
Had to share my review as a first time visitor. I was recently in WA with my daughter and Grandchildren. We all went to their regular Menchie's and I was very impressed with the flavors, service and cleanliness. I searched for a Menchie's in Orange County and found this one in Mission Viejo. We just got back after I talked up Menchie's to my husband on our way. Well, we won't be back to this one anytime soon. From what I thought it would be to what it was are drastically different. No taste cups I was told "we don't do tasters here," from the cash gal with an antitude. The whole negative thing was about her attitude. They only have the larger sized cups and no tasting. NO TASTING. How the hell do you know what you want? I was so disappointed by our visited and will most definitely not be back. You would expect maybe a "welcome to Menchie's?" Nope. Huge attitude on the girl server, like she was doing us a big favor by serving us. We will not be back to this location. I will try another and hopefully it is somewhat similar to my experience in Washington. Shame when people just don't give a shit. They won't be in business long with service like this.
